Shingles Vaccine Clinic
TWO-SHOT SERIES OFFERED BY MNPS KROGER PHARMACY
If you're 50 or older, the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) strongly recommends getting the new shingles vaccination called Shingrix® — even if you previously received the older Zostavax® shingles shot. Shingrix is shown to be more than 90% effective against the virus, while Zostavax is only 51% effective and effectiveness drops over time.
MNPS is partnering with Kroger to offer the Shingrix vaccine at no cost to MNPS Cigna plan enrollees.
You’re eligible for the new shingles vaccine if you are:
- Age 50+
- Enrolled in an MNPS employee or retiree medical plan (bring your Cigna or Cigna-HealthSpring insurance card)
Covered under a non-MNPS plan that covers the Shingrix vaccine (there may be an out-of-pocket cost)
Shingrix vaccine (newly recommended by the CDC)
Full vaccination requires two shots given 2-6 months apart.
First vaccine: April 19 or May 3 (pick one)
Second vaccine: July 12 or 26 (pick one)
2-5 p.m. each day
Employee Wellness Center, Board conference room (2nd floor), 2694 Fessey Court, Nashville

If you’re unable to attend one or both clinic dates, you can get vaccinated at any Kroger pharmacy. If you’re not up to date on your tetanus and/or pneumonia vaccinations, these will also be available during the shingles clinics.
