FITNESS CLASSES

 

Fitness classes are available to all MNPS employees, retirees and spouses at no charge.

 

Classes are limited to participants and registration is highly encouraged. You may register at the fitness desk up to 3 days before a scheduled class. If you sign up for a class and can not attend, please remove your name from the list to allow others to reserve the spot.

 

For yoga classes, mats are available for use, but feel free to bring your own.

 

Class descriptions

 

Riot

A circuit-training class for all fitness levels that will increase your strength and cardiovascular endurance.

 

Healthy for Life

A low-impact, low-intensity workout perfect for older adults. Each class includes aerobic conditioning, strengthening and stretching. 

 

Fast Lean Fit

A high-intensity cardio and strength workout that incorporates body weight and free weights and is appropriate for all fitness levels.

 

Body Sculpt / TRX

A circuit-training-style class using free weights and TRX suspension trainers that can be adapted to all fitness levels.

 

Pilates

This class is appropriate for all fitness levels and is designed to improve physical strength, flexibility and posture.

  

Iyengar Yoga

Iyengar yoga is characterized by a focus on detail, precision and alignment in the performance of posture (asana), controlled breathing (pranayama) and the development of strength, mobility and stability.

 

Power Lunch Yoga

A well-paced, flow-style yoga class designed to increase your metabolism and energize you for the rest of your day.

 

Gentle Yoga

This class focuses on precise body alignment, and poses are held longer (with support as needed) to allow your body to rest and relax. Props help participants of all abilities perform poses to build strength, flexibility, stamina and balance, and aid in stress reduction.
