Our first MNPS Employee & Family Health Care Center opened in a school classroom in January 2009. Within a few months, five primary care clinics, housed in repurposed classroom portables, fanned out across Metro Nashville. Today, 10 years later, our Employee Wellness Center and four outlying locations provide patient-centered, holistic health care to more than 700 teachers, staff and retirees and their family members each week.
During Wellness Week (May 6-10), we will hold open house celebrations at six locations across Nashville. Everyone is welcome!
Employee Wellness Center at Berry Hill
Short program • 3-3:30 p.m.
The celebration will open with a brief program in Conference Rooms A & B (second floor).
Open house • 3-6 p.m.
Join us for refreshments. Take a trip around the Fitness Center track to learn more about MNPS’s health benefits. Grab some information and freebies from our vendor partners. Walk around the facility on your own or ask one of our staff (in event t-shirts) for a guided tour.
Zumbathon (drop-in style) • 4-6 p.m.
If you’re feeling energetic – or just curious – drop by our Zumbathon in the downstairs Fitness Studio. Our awesome Zumba instructors, Maggie and Lourdes, will host the two-hour dance party. They will take turns teaching tracks in their different Zumba styles, with some tracks focusing on dance, some on strength, and some on interval training to create a fun, dynamic workout.
Try a few moves, get in a short workout, or stay for the whole two hours! It’s a great opportunity to sample this fun, high-energy class, which is currently offered twice a week. Come alone or bring a group of friends, family or coworkers. All fitness levels are welcome. Look for the party lights in the Fitness Studio.
Celebrate across Nashville
We’re also celebrating the Health Care Centers where it all began in 2009. We invite you to come to the main lobby of one of the schools below, enjoy refreshments, pick up some freebies and visit with Health Care Center staff.
